SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region — President Nechirvan Barzani of the Kurdistan Region has urged political parties to come together, emphasizing the Kurdish people’s demand for unity among them.
In his address at the eighth Sulaimani Forum, President Barzani emphasized that previous divisions have damaged the reputation of the parties involved, underscoring the critical need for solidarity and cooperation.
He also emphasized the necessity for the Region’s parliamentary elections to be conducted with fairness and transparency, ensuring consensus among all parties involved. He underscored the significance of the Kurdistan Parliament as a crucial achievement that must be safeguarded by all.
In reference to the disagreements between the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi government, President Barzani emphasized that all matters need to be resolved in accordance with the constitution, expressing optimism that Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani firmly believes in the constitution.
“It is essential for the federal system to be effectively implemented, and with the implementation of the constitution, all problems will be resolved,” said President Barzani.
