SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region – The Association of the Petroleum Industry of Kurdistan (APIKUR) reiterated its readiness to resume oil exports through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline (ITP), emphasizing the need for agreements that ensure contractual and economic stability for its member companies.
In a statement, APIKUR stressed the necessity of written sales and lifting agreements with both the Iraqi and Kurdistan Regional governments, guaranteeing payment transparency and protection from political interference.
As we have repeatedly stated, APIKUR member companies stand ready to resume oil exports through the Iraq-Türkiye pipeline, after agreements are reached that uphold our member companies existing contractual, commercial, and economic terms.

The group reaffirmed its commitment to working with all stakeholders for a swift resolution, aligning with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s call to expedite oil exports to boost Iraq’s economy.
The statement follows a meeting between Prime Minister Sudani and Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani, where both leaders underscored the importance of restarting oil production and exports through Turkey’s Ceyhan port while maintaining federal-regional economic cooperation.
Additionally, Iraq’s Ministry of Oil announced in a statement the completion of measures to resume oil exports from the Kurdistan Region via the Iraq-Turkey pipeline and Ceyhan port, in line with the amended budget law and OPEC production limits.
