SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region — Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with Major General Joel B. Vowell, commander of the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve in Erbil on Thursday. They discussed the threats posed by terrorism and ISIS in Iraq and Syria.
In a statement, the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region emphasized the importance of cooperation and coordination among the Peshmerga forces, the Iraqi Army, and coalition forces.

The meeting was also attended by Shoresh Ismail, the Minister of Peshmerga Affairs for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), and Lieutenant General Issa Ozer, the Chief of Staff of the Peshmerga Ministry.
Both sides emphasized the importance of reform within the Peshmerga Ministry and the reunification of Peshmerga forces. They also discussed various regional topics in depth.
