SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region – The Kurdistan Beekeepers Association held its 7th annual honey festival in Sulaimani’ Azadi Park in on Wednesday.
A co-founder of the association, Bakhtiyar Karim, told Zoom News on Wednesday that no foreign products had been featured as part of the festival.
“The festival brought together 34 beekeepers from different parts of the Kurdistan Region. The exhibit showcases a variety of Kurdish domestic honey,” added Karim.
Produced from different mountains of the Kurdistan Region, the honey is priced from 40,000 to 150,000 Iraqi dinars per kilo, depending on its quality.
The festival will be held for four days, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A slogan accompanying the festival read: “Be for the environment, honey for life.”
