SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region — Ibrahim Alizadeh, Secretary General of Komala, the Kurdish communist party in Iran, has criticized neighboring states for their attempts to undermine the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and diminish its authority.
In an interview with Zoom News, Alizadeh accused these nations of seeking to pressure the KRG into failure and emphasized the importance of public protest over military responses in resisting external pressures.

Alizadeh argued that allowing public demonstrations would better showcase the KRG’s resilience and its refusal to surrender to the situation imposed by neighboring states and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He also highlighted the solidarity of the Kurdish population, citing instances of support from families in Sulaimani and Erbil who have offered refuge to their members facing displacement.
Alizadeh’s comments came just one day before the issuance of residence permits for Kurdish-Iranian (Rojhelat) opposition parties were suspended for over a month in Erbil province.
