SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region — Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met in Washington to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between their countries, Hussein said on X.
In the meeting, they focused on improving partnerships in economy, energy, security, and fighting terrorism.

The officials also reviewed plans for an upcoming visit by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to Washington. They highlighted the importance of meetings between the US and Iraq to coordinate efforts under the Strategic Framework Agreement.
In addition, they talked about regional tensions and efforts to reduce them. The meeting emphasized the ongoing commitment of both nations to working together for peace and stability.
