SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region – An unidentified airstrike in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, resulted in the deaths of seven members of the pro-Iran militia early Tuesday, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), which specifies that among the deceased is a commander who was killed in the Al-Villat neighborhood of the city.
An unknown aircraft, possibly from Israel or the US, conducted airstrikes on Iranian militia positions in Deir ez-Zor province. The attacks resulted in casualties among the militias, prompting ambulances to quickly respond to the affected areas, according to SOHR.
It also states the strikes occurred shortly after an Iranian transport plane had landed at Deir ez-Zor airport.
According to sources cited by SOHR, the unidentified aircraft have attacked farms in Mayadin, two militia headquarters in the city of Al-Bukamal, a headquarters near the Al-Abbas area, and a headquarters in the Al-Villat neighborhood in the city of Deir ez-Zor.
