SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has condemned the devastating attack on the al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, which claimed the lives of at least 500 people and left hundreds more injured.
In a statement released by KRG Spokesperson Peshawa Hawramani, the KRG emphasized that military offensives and warfare are not the solutions to ongoing conflicts, calling upon the international community to redouble its efforts to safeguard innocent civilians from imminent danger.
Separately, the Iraqi Council of Ministers issued a statement affirming that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has directed all state departments, facilities, and educational institutions throughout Iraq to stand in solidarity and observe a day of mourning on Wednesday.
“This act of unity and remembrance is in honor of the innocent lives lost among the Palestinian people due to what the statement referred to as the “brutal Zionist aggression” against the Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip,” read the statement.
