SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has vehemently denied the allegations put forth by Turkish officials regarding the involvement of individuals responsible for the recent attack in the Turkish capital, Ankara. The SDF has labeled these claims as baseless and part of a larger pattern of false accusations aimed at diverting attention from Turkey’s internal issues.
Turkish officials, notably Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, recently stated that the two assailants behind the attempted attack in Ankara had ties to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and originated from Syria. The SDF, however, refutes these claims, asserting that they are untrue and merely a continuation of Turkey’s ongoing campaign to shift the focus away from its domestic problems.
In a statement released by the SDF, they emphasized their unwavering commitment to ensuring both internal and regional security. The group maintains that the allegations made by Turkish authorities pave the way for actions that could lead to ethnic cleansing and genocide against the Kurdish population.
