SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region — The Press Freedom Project (PFP), a US-based organization, and Zoom News Corporation have agreed to launch joint projects and work together in the US and Iraq.
According to the memorandum, which was signed on March 20, PFP relies on the information from Zoom throughout Iraq ”to protect the profession of journalism, media freedom and avoid false news.”
In return, PFP will provide financial support to Zoom Media on the basis of joint projects. In addition, it will provide “solid and direct moral support” to Zoom News.
This memorandum of understanding between Zoom Media and PFP is the result of over three months of discussion among their representatives.
The next step for both sides is to provide assistance to Zoom News in opening its office in the United States.
The Press Freedom Project is a US-based non-profit organization that works towards a world where individuals are not punished for their beliefs and thoughts. They aim to raise awareness about the suffering experienced by individuals in Iraq and the Middle East.
Zoom Media Corporation is a news corporation in Iraq, owned by Al-Ma’adel Al-Dhahabi company. It has offices in capital Baghdad and Sulaimani. In addition to a news website, it has a variety of social media platforms.
